Powder Monkey

Hey Team!  I did not mean to let one entire month of non-blogging go by... you must accept my apologies.  Big Saturday today! I got to ride with my buddies at Rockwall Cycling this morning.  Absolutely wonderful weather and virtually no breeze.  My buddy Trey was an eager bunny and showed up like 45 minutes earlier than everyone else.

We did the normal route by going South out of town, then east towards Blackland.  I felt heavy and I believe it is a result of still recovering from last weekend's triathlon.  This past Wednesday I went to the Tech Park with the team to do sprint work and that felt heavy and sluggish too.  So, perhaps I need to back off a touch and ice more.  That's the game plan this week with more light runs for tempo...no hammering.

I have faithfully stuck with the tablespoon of wheatgrass every morning for the past 10 months.  Actually, I took a big break for about 5 weeks in there somewhere, but my energy and recovery has been noticeably better than before wheatgrass.  Plus, it makes it where I can enjoy beer more often throughout my training. (no documentation to back that up)

Last night I followed the Seawolf in a motorboat with NBC's cameraman to take some sunset shots of the boat.  When he was taking his film I snuck my camera out and took some shots as well.  I couldn't resist, so here is my work, not that of NBC...
I also learned some things about filming...for one, all of this footage is known as "B film" or scenery shots that are just for transititions and pretty backdrops.

Last weekend was the Rockwall Cycling Race Team meeting.  This is a short video that I put together of the group ride prior to the meeting at Palio's Pizza.  Yumyum.
